Wise Professional Network 2020 Launch Event

Wise Professional Network (WPN) held their first event of 2020 at The Globe bar on Thursday 13th February to an audience of over 60 people. The 2020 launch event, sponsored by Baker Hughes Company, was held to share an update of what Wise has been up to and what’s in store for 2020.

Reflections on Women Economic Forum 2019 

Allison Selman, WISE Chair, share here experience on the WEF 2019. "The Women Economic Forum saw delegates from over 25 countries and shared their work and contribution towards achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals in Perth. It was an inspirational and uplifting weekend, to say the least. I connected and networked with many women and men from all walks for life, who are all passionate about improving the lives of women through economic empowerment."

Women in Subsea Engineering - Establishing the Baseline

This report prepared by Professor Linley Lord, Dr. Melissa Marinelli and Ms Danielle Leotta, outlines the findings of the research project "Women in Subsea Engineering - Establishing the Baseline", which analysed the status of women working in the subsea sector. Some key findings from the project include, lack of data, the difficulty for women establishing credibility, difficulty accessing formal and informal networks and mentorship opportunities, challenges utilising flexible working arrangements, negative perceptions around women as mothers and a lack of understanding of the value of diversity within organisations.
