Future Engineers Program

Future Engineers

Future Engineers is a STEM program for High School girls in Years 8 – 11. They will hear from passionate STEM professionals in the industry and build self-confidence and public speaking skills through workshops. Students will learn about oil and gas and explore STEM careers in the industry.

The program includes visits to Perth CBD offices and sites in Henderson, Yangebup and Jandakot. The girls will tour the IFAP training facility, explore the Oceans Institute at UWA and have opportunities to interact with the latest robotics technology.

Applications for the 2019 are now closed and the program is filled. Email us at wise@subseaenergy.org.au if you would like to be notified of the October 2020 program as a Sponsor, Volunteer or Student.

2018 Future Engineers Program Participants

In 2018, the first Future engineers Program ran with 30 high school girls participating in the program.

The Future Engineers Program is made possible by our generous program sponsors.

Check below some testimonials from the 2018 Future Engineers Program.

"I am 14 years old... but the amount of time I have been told I am not good enough, I am not pretty enough, not smart enough, or that I don't belong... well, it is not okay.
I am a girl that always loved maths and, for as long as I can remember, has dreamed of being a scientist...

On Monday afternoon we spent a session learning self-confidence, learning how to celebrate ourselves. Everyone of us is unique and that is pretty amazing!"

"My highlight was watching the girls work together as a team, seeing the joy on their faces and how eager they were to learn! Looking at the program schedule, the variety of activities, topics and site visits were very impressive."

"We were impressed by the way the program was prepared. The days were well organised and full of interesting activities in outstanding places.
The subjects were worthwhile and included a wide range of current problems and modern ways of solving them.
We could recommend this program to girls who are interested in Engineering or those undecided."
